Training new talent

Strong hiring intentions

According to a study by the French government agency Pôle Emploi, logistics is one of the top 10 sectors in terms of hiring intentions. Fluctuating levels of activity during seasonal peaks, such as Christmas, or during promotional events, which are increasingly numerous in certain sectors such as e-commerce, make managing the workforce more difficult. To cope, companies often prefer to use temporary order pickers. But these new extras, who need to be trained, are generally in demand at the same times. This concentration of demand makes it even more difficult for warehouses to attract and motivate their employees.

In addition to these inherent market difficulties, there is also a shortage of skilled workers, not only required for operational warehousing and transport activities, but now indispensable for the implementation of Logistics 4.0, for the management and programming of robots and automatic systems. Faced with these challenges, WMS publishers are stepping up their collaboration with training institutes, like Infflux, which is now cooperating with the QLIO (Quality, Industrial Logistics and Organization) department of the IUT d'Évry Val d'Essonne. The aim is to train new talent by immersing them in warehouse management issues in the era of the connected, robotized and "intelligent" factory, and to support them in their professional integration.
